An undergraduate degree in computational and applied mathematics or operations research can open doors to unlimited career possibilities. Our students go to work in the oil and gas and finance industries and in the medical field, to name a few. They go on to graduate school and start their own businesses. The flexibility of the degree allows for exploration in other disciplines as well.
Graduate Programs
Graduates with a degree in computational and applied mathematics are in demand in industry, government research laboratories, and academia, where they often join with physical and biological scientists, engineers, and computer scientists to form teams. Such interdisciplinary teams represent the modern approach to dealing with complex problems whose solutions require mathematical and scientific skills. Our alumni have successful careers in industry, academia, and national research laboratories.
